The school operates a boys’ Football Academy in conjunction with Cwmbran Celtic Football, allowing students selected to undergo professional sports training in addition to their academic courses.
In recent years the Football have played an increasingly important role in the life of the Sixth Form, with our footballers being significant role models for many of our younger pupils.
A team of dedicated staff ensure students achieve to the best of their ability. Academic progress is a priority and is carefully monitored. It is important that students achieve both on and off the field.
The Football Academy was established in 2001 with the help of ex Wales and Newcastle striker Malcolm Allen and officially launched by Welsh legend John Hartson.
The Academy was accredited with F.A.W. status in 2005 and is well respected not only in Torfaen but also Wales and beyond.
The Academy recently joined the English Colleges League , with previous scalps against, Portsmouth, Bristol Rovers, Shrewsbury, Newport County and West Ham United to name a few our Academy is continually improving year by year.
